Human Trafficking

December 17, 2011

To my readers watching the following video has touched the hearts of those in the VOS family and we felt compelled to share the video to bring awareness to this growing issue.  Here in our country as well as many other countries people are being sold, bought, and smuggled like modern day slaves.  Human trafficking is very real and not only do our young people need to be aware of this problem we as a society must be aware of the dangers that lurk.  Human trafficking is not something that happens just in other countries that is a myth, it does happen right here in the United States.  In an article by Dr. Irene Fiala in the Cleveland Social Issues Examiner, she talks about a case where human trafficking was found in Cleveland to view the article click on the following link  People are being lured into human trafficking with the promises of work and assistance.  They drop everything and go but find that they are trapped and in order to survive they have to succumb to the life.   To report Human Trafficking or to get help contact the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) at 1-888-428-7581 or your local FBI office.

Thank you for posting this. You are absolutely right, human trafficking happens everyday throughout the world and right here in the United States. I thank God for people like you who stand up and use your voice for those who cannot speak for themselves. Telling the world you will not stand for this and that it is unacceptable to you.

As a survivor of horrific abuse, I thank you for being a Voice for the abused. Please keep your words LOUD AND STRONG.

Thank you for responding. Sorry to hear that you endured such abuse it really is unimaginable that human beings are out there doing such horrific acts to other human beings. As we watched the video we couldn’t help but be tearful and wonder what more we could do to help. We figured together we can make a difference and bring awareness to this growing issue by just getting the information out there. Thank you again for your response if you have any suggestions on what more VOS can do to bring awareness to this issue please feel free to email us
